The Story
Racing to the top
1984: Heddie
In a relatively short period of time, Arthur, already with the help of his sons Guido and Eddy, builds a successful stable. Their mares quickly gain recognition in the competitions, and the first national title comes in 1984, awarded to Heddie van Hofstade (s. Baron van 't Brouwerijhof). Two years later, Bloc van Oombergen (s. Souvenir van Boekel) follows, co-owned with Van Melckebeke. That same year, Bloc is also crowned champion among stallions with offspring. In 1989, another Souvenir son, Albion de Pontailles, secures the championship title.
A new highlight follows in 1994 with Star van 't Bloemenhof, who, as the son of Bloc van Oombergen, once again highlights his father's breeding qualities. It takes six years until 2000, when Jim van Niesenhof is named champion after a fierce battle against Hepper Sam.
Fast pace
From then on, titles follow one after the other at a fast pace, and three times the title is awarded to a son of Jim. In 2004, Buffalo van 't Camillenhof matches his father's achievement and would even surpass him in breeding. Maxx van den Egelenberg wins the title in 2006, and just one year later, Pol van Hansevelde ensures that the name Van Langenhove is once again included in the championship table. Tijn van de Vliegert completes the list of illustrious father-stallions with the title in 2011, after the victory of the homebred Victoria van 't Langhof (s. Buffalo) in 2010.
Besides these titles, Eddy Van Langenhove has also been closely involved in several other horses, such as Nike van 't Bos (2012) and Matteo van 't Rietenhof (2014).
